Whilst I absolutely love winter my poor skin seems to hate it. As soon as September ends and temperatures drop my skin seems to feel instantly dryer and tighter and a good moistursier becomes a must.
Melvita's Ultra-nourishing body balm * has been my moisturiser of choice this season and has been helping keep my skin on top form. It comes housed in a plastic tub, which admittedly isn't the most luxe packaging I've ever seen but it is functional. The moisturiser itself is on the thicker side but not so much so that it leaves you feeling greasy or sits on the skin forever, refusing to sink in. Melvita have cleverly combined regenerating royal jelly with cocoa butter and the emollient properties of stevia leaf in to the formula, which once on the skin feels really luxurious and has worked wonders on my notoriously dry shins and has kept my skin soft and supple. Not only has it been keeping my skin thoroughly moistrurised and comfortable but it also helps to repair the skins natural moisture barrier by stimulating the growth of new skin cells as well as nourishing it with lost nutrients for healthier looking skin.
I've also found that I can actually skip a few days of moisturising without my skin throwing a wobbler after I've been using this regularly which I'm really pleased about. I often find that whilst some products leave my skin feeling soft when I use them as soon as I've had a shower or washed them off it's back to it's dry, uncomfortable old self.
The scent of this little tub of goodness is also ah-mazing. I can't quite put my finger on what it reminds me of, it's fruity and sweet at the same time and I can't help but think of fizzy oranges. I promise if you sniff it for yourself you'll fall in love with it in no time.
At £23 for 150ml it does seem a tad pricey but when you consider how little you need to use each time ( my little tub has lasted a good few months) and how well it does it's job it actually isn't bad value for money at all.
Sounds like a winter saviour. My skin is crying out for some TLC & this nourishing lotion would be perfect
