Long walk & a bright coat

We've recently been having some terrible weather up North. It's been the  kind of weather where you just want to hide in doors, snuggle up with a hot chocolate and watch a film. However on Thursday morning we awoke to gorgeous sunshine and not a drop of rain in sight. Eager for some fresh air after a crazy New Year's eve and of course not wanting to waste the first nice day we've had in weeks, Guy and I decided to wrap up warm and  head to Lotherton Hall just outside of Leeds for a little mooch around.

One of my New Year's resolutions is to be more adventurous with my outfits . I'm famous for my love of cream and black and no matter how hard I try I can't resist a beige knit. Whilst Christmas shopping in York recently I met up with my parents for coffee and proudly showed them the gorgeous knew cream jumper I'd just purchased from Zara - whilst wearing another almost identical gorgeous-cream-jumper-from-zara. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a problem. 

I kept the jumper, of course I did, but in an attempt to keep to my resolution for just one day I did decide to jazz it up with a bright red coat.  I also opted for some black Joni Jeans from Topshop. They're seriously the most comfy jeans around and I love that they're high waisted. I also wore some knee length boots and a bobble hat to hide any hair horrors and mask the fact I could hardly be bothered to brush it. Whilst I'm looking forward to brighter, warmer days I have to admit I'll miss being able to chuck on a hat and be ready to go.
