Autumn nail picks

From Top to Bottom: Mavala Nail Cream in London, No7 Gel Shine in Deep Wine, OPI - got the blues for red and Mua nail polish in Plum Noir

I don't think there was anyone more pleased than myself to hear that it was finally Autumn earlier this week. There's just something about the prospect of cosy nights in, endless mugs of hot chocolate and twinkly lights that makes me all giddy inside. So now it's official I thought it was about time I dug out the berry shades and brought out the purples!

From top to bottom:

Mavala Nail Colour Cream in London
Okay, so not a particularly autumnal shade but I don't think any nail stash should be without a good one coat red. I really love the colour of this and find it to be a nice true red that looks great on fingers or toes. It also applies really nice and is opaque after just one coat which is always impressive. It does start to chip after around 3 days but it's so pretty I can live with that.

No7 Gel-Look Shine in Deep Wine
I have a few polishes from this range and they're definitely some of my favourites. They're all so ridiculously easy to apply thanks to a nice wide brush and I've even managed to give my nails a quick swipe of colour on the train before work. I think the colour of this might just be one of my favourite polish shades ever. It's one of those universally flattering berry hues that always makes me feel like I have a really grown up mani. Formula-wise this ticks all the boxes too. It doesn't chip, plus it dries incredibly shiny meaning there's no need for a top coat either.

OPI Nail Lacquer- Got The Blues For Red
Got The Blues For Red is another favourite of mine when I'm in the mood for a dark polish and last winter it was barely off my nails for more than five minutes. It's the perfect dark red  and looks incredibly glossy whilst managing to last for days and days without even the slightest hint of a chip. After swatching this next to Deep Wine I realised for the first time just how similar these two shades are but can you never have too many polishes right?!

MUA Nail Polish in Plum Noir
I'm not usually a huge purple fan but this one definitely has me converted. It does take a couple of coats to build up an opaque colour but it's definitely worth that bit of extra effort and it's a total steal at £1.
