Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush: Radiant Magenta

Who'd have thought such a tiny compact could get so many tongues wagging?
Hourglass have definitely managed to get beauty lovers hearts beating with their new Ambient Lighting Blushers and I'm sure I wasn't the only one who snapped one up like lightening when they became available to pre-order on Space NK last week. There are six gorgeous colours mixed with their famous lighting powder formula, and all housed in a dreamy mirror effect compact. And did you know they're actually hand made in Italy and no two pans are the same? How swish.

I opted for the shade Radiant Magenta purely because I prefer my blush to be pink rather than peachy and this looked like it would most fit the bill. Described as a 'golden fuschia' this is one seriously beautiful shade. It 's not as fuschia as I was expecting (from looking at the shades on Space NK) , and I think that's down to the tan colour it's blended with but nevertheless it's a lovely shade and would be perfect for summer. The blush itself is buttery soft, airily light, and gorgeous to apply - but it's worth noting that it applies a lot more sheer than it looks in the pan. One swipe is enough to give a subtle flush but I persoanlly think it does require a little bit of layering to really appreciate the colour..

It also gives cheeks a nice ' lit from with in' effect because of the lighting particles swirled through and it  imparts a good dose of glow without being too much. I did expect a bit more sparkle from these but there seems to be very little in the way of obvious shimmer which I quite like.
The only downside is how much powder gathers in the sides of the compact when you run a brush through and it can look a bit messy but it's not really much of an issue.

I'm already contemplating the what shade to buy next!

  6. Ooh I love your choice! I also like my blush to be more pink...rather than coral. I love the fact that this one is pink, but also has gold throughout it!

It definitely seems like it would make your cheeks look glowing! Love it!
