NOTE: The bottom row of swatches is the top row in the pan and vice versa

Unless you've been hiding under a rock the last couple of months I'm sure you'll have found it impossible to escape the hype surrounding Make Up Revolution. I must admit, as much as I love fancy packaging I'm a complete sucker for a bargain range and Make Up Revolution promises just that.

Firs off- packaging. When I decided to photograph this I whipped it out of the box and managed to drop it down a whole flight of stairs and on to the wooden floor below. Fortunately everything remained intact thanks to the seriously sturdy compact. And let's not forget the generous sized mirror, always handy for those on the move touch ups.

Shade wise I think they've got it pretty spot on with this, there's something to suit everyone whether you're matte fan or prefer a bit of shimmer and if that wasn't enough there's a gorgeous highlighter too.

My favourite shades have been the pink blusher ( top row) and the baked blusher. I'm a total sucker for a baked blush, I love the swirly pattern and the pretty raspberry shade just screams Summer. The pink shade has also been gracing my cheeks pretty regularly since I got it. It's the perfect easy to wear every day pink that when applied with a fluffy brush gives a lovely flush to the cheeks. I've also surprised myself and stepped away from my usual pink toned comfort zone and on a few occasions I've worn the darker berry shades!

Another favourite is the highlighter and although it looks pretty scary in the pan once blended it's actually really nice. It has a nice frosted finish too it which really helps give off a nice glow. The lighter contour shade has also turned in to a morning staple. I'm not usually a huge controuring fan ( I can never get it right) but a quick sweep of this has really been helping warm up my pasty face and make me look a little more summer ready!

The formula is on point too. I feel like they have just the right amount of pigmentation; not too much so you have to blend like a mad woman, but not too little you have to spend hours building the shade up either.

All in all the Sugar and Spice palette * is a great little buy for £6 and I can't wait to check out the range further. Setting spray I'm looking at you!

  7. I really need to step out of my comfort zone with blushers since mine are essentially all the same shade, and this would be the perfect way to do it! There isn't a shade here I wouldn't use!
