I finally bought this face powder about two months ago after hearing so many good things about it and also I was getting a bit bored of my usual Clinique. It took me a while to decide to stray from my old faithful as I must be the most unfortunate girl in the world in that almost every single foundation/powder no matter what brand ( MAC, bobbie brown I'm looking at you!) makes me break out reallyreally bad. However on this occasion in my local boots I was having a particularly good skin day ( thank you clarissonic mia!) and I felt like my days of spotty teenage skin were farfar behind me so I coughed up the £34 and took this baby home.
As you would expect it comes in typically gorgeous Chanel packaging and it feels really sturdy and luxurious. However when I opened the box I was actually really surprised at how big the actual tub was. It is a pretty hefty size and almost fills my makeup bag by itself so it's not the most travel friendly powder I've ever bought. It also comes with a cute little puff to apply it with although I always use a brush so my puff is still unused!
Anyway, here is the product in the tub. Because of the shaker feature if you carry it around in your bag it has a tendency to shake itself in to the lid however I seem to have had this problem with several other loose powders.
Things I loved about this :
- it's super finely milled so it's not at all cakey and you don't feel like you're wearing any powder at all ( doesn't provide much coverage though so if you're cout to cover bits up this probably isn't for you)
- 30 g of powder will last forever
- controlled my oil bits without making me look too matte.
things I didn't like so much
- HUGE tub?! added some serious weight to my handbag
- a little expensive maybe? my usual Clinique powder is only £20
Over all I was So excited with this product, I really thought I had found the best powder ever. I was getting compliments left right and centre about how ' smooth' my make up looked so you can imagine my disappointment when I started to break out. I eventually had to stop using it and it's been sat in my make up box ever since.
wish i could afford makeup like this! lol student lifeeeee!
