Rimmel wake me up foundation

I bought this foundation on a bit of a whim really after reading so many rave reviews from other bloggers about it and needless to say I was not disappointed. I can't remember the last time I actually purchased a drugstore foundation as I have remained loyal to Clinique for the last five or so years so I was keen to see how this measured up.

Rimmel Wake me up is one of those foundations that is supposed to make you look glowy and awake with light reflecting particles to leave you looking radiant. On the skin all my imperfections were blurred away and I was left with fresh looking skin. However it does feel a tad heavy on the skin although it doesn't particularly look it and I would say it provided a medium coverage and the finish is natural and dewy. I was also surprised at how thick the foundation felt when pumped on to the back of my hand as I have been  used to the runny formula of Benefits hello flawless as opposed to this which feels more gel like.I found this foundation lasted 5 or 6 hours before I needed to powder which I was impressed with. It also has a really nice scent which I personally like, however I think this might put some people off. Another drawback would be the limited shade range, only being six choices I don't think this is a perfect match for me but is close enough.

Overall I am really enjoying this foundation and whilst it's not converted me from my beloved clinique I certainly wouldn't mind using it again.

Have you tried this foundation? What are you drugstore favourites?
I'm off to Oxford this weekend for the first time ever !hope you all have a lovely weekend x

  1. I'm always reluctant to try this because people I know have said that it has a lot of noticeable glitter in it but it looks really lovely blended out in the swatch so maybe I'll finally give it a try! :)

    1. For a dewy foundation I didn't find there to be much shimmer at all!but if you're not a shimmer fan it's probably best to have a play with a tester just to make sure it's not too ott for you :) xxx

  4. I've read some glowing reviews on this as well! The annoying thing is that they don't do it in a shade that would match my skin tone! ARGH.

    1. Aw thank you! Yeah the lightest shade isn't really all that light which was a bit disappointing because I'm quite pale too. Always forgetting us pale girls ha :( xx

  16. My favorite drugstore foundation right now is the Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation. I feel like it's not too dewy and not too matte. It's the perfect combination -- and it's super affordable!

I'm going to have to try the Wake Me Up Foundation!
