Having been cursed with the worlds flattest hair it has been a life long quest of mine to find products that will give my hair even the tiniest bit of oomph and lift.
Being a huge John Freida fan I was really excited when I saw these products advertised on TV and I actually went out and bought them that same day whilst they were on 3 for 2 in Boots. I opted for the volume building mousse, blow dry lotion and blow out spray and have been using all 3 over the past couple of weeks.
I spritzed these through towel dried hair and then blow dryed with a big barrel brush. Initially I was quite disappointed as I didn't really feel like my hair had been given any volume really but the products felt like they had made my hair stiffer and feel slightly fuller around the root area but it didn't look volumised. I also found the moose to make my hair feel slightly sticky which I really disliked and the sprays stung my scalp a little bit when first applied ( the blow dry lotion does smell quite alcholly like hand sanitizer so maybe that's why). Overall I wouldn't buy these products again, they're not terrible but I felt disappointed with the amount of volume given and so I will be trying something different next time.
What products do you use to give your hair volume? Have you tried these?

You should try just good ol' teasing and hair-spray to give your hair more volume. Always works no matter how flat your hair is. :) Sorry these products didn't work out for you!
ReplyDeleteI have a really great back combing brush that works wonders but I'm trying to grow my hair so I'm staying away from spraying and teasing to minimise breakage gahhh:(!
Deletesorry these products didn't work for you! i have quite a bit of volume anyway (but you can never have enough in my opinion!) and i just use aussie volume shampoo, a volumising blow dry spray, and i have a nozzle on my hairdryer which is for volume and then sometimes some volumising powder for when i'm feeling flat! x

ReplyDeleteive never used anything volumizing as i have thin natural afro hair so it although its thin its never really straight (plus i don have it out anyway :/)

I was ever so tempted to pick some up as my hair is always needing that extra volume, no matter what I do, I just cant seam to get any volume to stay put in my hair :( It's such a shame that these didn't work, I couldn't agree more that horrible stiff feeling in your hair is just awful, it makes you feel as though you've not washed your hair. Let the hunt for more volume continue! xx
