At the start of Summer I embarked on a quest to find the perfect yellow polish. I wanted something fairly pastely and had a lovely butter cup hue in mind. As it turns out it was actually pretty difficult to find 'the one' and I found most yellows seemed a bit garish, or looked like that acrylic paint you used to use in primary school. It wasn't until a quick dash to the tills in Boots that I spotted this and decided it was probably as good as I was going to get. Plus it promised to deliver bags of shine which is always a winner in my book.
Formula wise it's not the best. I tend to find gel formulas to be pretty thick and often opaque in one coat or definitely in two. This took a whopping three coats to achieve a streak free finish but I have to admit I was pleased with the results. Without a topcoat this was beautifully shiny and glossy and lasted a whole five days without chipping or peeling.
Whilst I still think yellow is a bit of a marmite shade and it hasn't persuaded me to ditch my usual red mani just yet I quite enjoyed sporting something more summery for a change!
This is the only shade of yellow I find attractive on the nails and I haven't been able to find anything similar where I live. It's such a happy colour!

Yellow nails do look cute but only if the yellow is bright enough in my opinion.
