When it comes to handbags my general view is the bigger the better. I'm not sure why but for some reason I seem to enjoy carting around a back breaking bag filled to the brim with a whole host of unnecessary items ( Do I really need 3 pots of carmex in one bag?hmm) that I never use. Must be a girl thing, no?
As a treat to my shoulders I decided that a much smaller bag was needed and eventually settled for the Ted Baker Markun bag; small and cute. Although I did have to dissuade myself from purchasing it in the most delicious minty green shade (heart said yes, practicality said no) I'm pretty pleased with my purchase.
Down to the nitty gritty. It's small. Really small. It just about fits a purse, a few make up essentials ( lip balm, a comb, maybe a powder at a push) , my keys and my phone. It did take a little bit of ruthlessness to whittle everything down to just the bare essentials, and it was hard to admit that it's not really necessary to bring eight lipsticks when I'm popping to the supermarket. That aside I've quite enjoyed starting to travel light; no more back ache at the end of a long day and I can now actually find my purse in under 10 seconds.
I always carry a massive bag, but its because I stay somewhere different every night (mums, boyfriends, dads) so I leave clothes there but I need to carry my makeup, hair stuff etc. Everyone says I'm mad, especially as I have a really bad back! I recently went away and only carried a small satchel, I loved having a smaller bag but now I'm back I need my massive bag again!

I keep meaning to try this out. I always get pain due to the weight of my handbag but I just can't bring myself to downsize :(. Ps love the ted baker :)

This is a really cute bag :) I'm the same as you, I usually prefer to carry around as much stuff as possible! xx
ReplyDeleteI just downsized my bag also. I was carrying a really heavy one and I barely used half the stuff in it. I consolidated my items and put them in my Rebecca Minkoff mini mac. I feel much better carrying around something smaller.
ReplyDeleteI love my smaller bag, and I also love Ted Baker.
