Hair oils definitely have to be a little bit of a love hate product for me. Over the years I've worked my way through the majority of the offerings on the aisles of boots and even turned my attentions further a field in the search for the perfect oil. I want something incredibly light, non greasy and weightless. I have super fine hair, and instead of providing me with glossy locks and not a dry end in sight most oils leave my hair feeling weighed down and looking like it could do with a good wash.
I'm sure you'll remember when Macadamia oil did the rounds a while back and after reading a ton of super positive reviews I purchased a bottle. I can't say that I've experienced love at first use that often but this was definitely one of those rare occasions. One pump ( roughly the size of a 10 pence piece) before blow drying is enough to cover the ends of my hair and have a little but left over for the lengths. For an oil I find it quite runny and it's lighter texture seems to make all the didference when it comes to not overloading my hair with product. After blow drying it left my hair feeling ridiculously soft ( you know that sort of soft where you can't stop twirling your hair round your finger it's that nice). There was no greasy residue - just soft, shiny, healthy looking hair.
I kept up the usage ( literally every hair wash) and the overall improvement in my hair was amazing. It's no secret that I abuse my hair, and when it comes to getting ready in a morning there's never a heated tool too far away. This unfortunately means the ends of my hair are prone to breakage and getting quite dry but after a month or so of using the macadamia healing oil they were transformed. After a good trim and continued use of the oil split ends became non existent, yay. I used to reluctantly have a trim every six or so weeks because the ends of my hair would start to look so ratty but I found that I could now get away with avoiding my hairdresser's chair for a lot longer. The overall appearance of my hair really improved too. It looked shiner, less frizzy, bouncier and generally as if it was in pretty good shape.
Of course it eventually ran out and I never actually got round to purchasing another bottle and I stopped using a hair oil altogether. It was only after I noticed last month that the ends of my hair were starting to look a little worse for wear again that I finally purchased another bottle. This time around I'm just as impressed. I haven't been using it too long but it's already sorting out any dryness and fixing my hair. I won't be forgetting to repurchase this time.
I do love Macademia oil, my hairdresser first recommended it to me and I never looked back! xoxo

DeleteThis oil sounds lovely :) xx
ReplyDeleteI really should try this! I keep seeing so many rave reviews of the macadamia products but the price has always put me off. I just use cheap versions which I've found in primark and pound land etc haha.
