Clarins Gentle Exfoliator Brightening Toner

Toner, a product that I used to detest but one I've slowly grown to love. After trying several disappointing offerings over the years I finally found love with Pixi's Glow tonic, but two bottles later curiosity got the better of me and off to the Clarins counter I went.

So, how did it compare to the oh so lovely Glow Tonic? For starters it's thicker than I was expecting, apparently down to the glycerine but it glides over skin and doesn't leave any residue. I've been using it a couple of nights a week  for a few months now and honestly progress has been slow.   After a few uses of glow tonic I felt like I could see a difference, it seemed to clear blemishes over night and just managed to make my skin look better. With the Clarins toner it's taken weeks for me to notice anything happening. With it's promises to slough away dead skin and promote cell renewal I naively expected to wake up with a super model glow. I initially thought it was doing absolutely nothing for me but I persevered ( I didn't want to admit to myself that I wasted yet another £20 on something that didn't work, uhoh)  and I'm happy to say my persistence has paid off.

Over the last couple of weeks I've finally started to notice the brighter skin it promises. I feel like I'm having a pretty good skin phase at the moment which I'm going to attribute to this and it's exfoliating properties. My complexion on the whole is looking fresher, brighter and has a little bit of glow. Plus I've ditched my heavier foundation and replaced it with another super light one but more on that later!

Overall, I like it, I like it a lot. Miracle worker it is not but it's become a welcome addition to my skin care routine.

  2. I absolutely love this toner and do feel like it's done a lot for my skin. I agree though that it takes consistent use for a while to see results but I'd say it is because it's so gentle.

  3. I do enjoy using this toner but I agree that it takes regular use to see results. It isn't too harsh though so more frequent use is fine. xx

  4. Love your honesty review! I'm wanting to try this out in the future so I'll keep in mind not to worry if it takes a while to see results.
