Weekend Walk

photo IMG_9934_zps5mlhtz02.jpg I'm so excited that Autumn is now well and truly upon us. I think that this is probably my favourite time of the year. Cold crisp mornings and orange leaves, yet the days can still be sunny and bright. At the moment, I'm loving being outdoors. For me, Sundays are all about long walks and eating too much and that's exactly what I had planned this week. We had a brunch reservation at Malmaison in town ( seriously good, you have to try it!) but before that we were determined to get out and get some fresh air.

Despite only being a relatively short drive from where we live, neither of us had visited Macclesfield forest before so we hopped in the car ready for a new adventure. I pulled on my favourite cosy shoes (don't judge me, they're just so soft and comfy I can't bear to part with them) and blanket scarf and we were off.

There's a little bit of an information centre when you arrive to help you decide on which route you're going to take. With us not quite being the seasoned walkers we like to pretend we are we opted for something a little more straight forward.

Our walk didn't actually take us that long but we said hello to numerous pups out for their morning walkies and spent a good amount of time swooning over other people's adorable dogs. I always feel like I would spend so much more time outdoors and walking if I had a little pooch to take with me, so I can only conclude that a dog would be good for my health. At least this is what I will tell the other half.

After our walk we headed home to change in to something more brunch appropriate before heading out to eat. Malmaison's All Day Brunch is the brunch of dreams. Unlimited hors d'oeuvres from the chef's table, followed by a two course brunch - we're talking serious amounts of food here. I had a dreamy Pumpkin tortolloni, followed by sticky toffee pudding with caramel sauce and lashings of ice cream too. Ahhhmazing

Afterwards we were absolutely full and took a very slow walk back to the car! We spent the rest of the day in our comfy clothes catching up on the TV we'd missed through the week.

I love a lazy Sunday but what's your favourite way to spend a Sunday? Are you a lie in and brunch type of person or do you like to use your Sunday's to prep for the coming week?
