Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder

You know those days when you pop in Space NK just to look, you fall in love with something you totally didn't know you needed and you come out with one of those big shiny bags and a significantly lighter purse? That's what happened here. I'm not usually a massive fan of contouring. On other people -yes! But I can never quite get it to look right on myself and all that fuss for cheek bones?

After having a swatch or so of this and seeing it in numerous beauty videos I thought a contouring newbie like me could give it a whirl. So -First off- packaging. As with most products at this price point, the packaging is dreamy. It even comes in it's own little cover for travelling and it's just oh so cute. The mirror is a tad on the small side so if you've got a big head like me then don't expect to see much.

It's also worth noting just how small this product is. You get a tiny 3.1g of powder so you're not getting much bang for your buck. Having said that it is super pigmented so you really do need the smallest amount, unless you're wanting to go full Kim K then a few sweeps should do you. I find a couple of taps is enough for the hollows of my cheeks and my nose and it's really easy to blend for natural looking shadows. Although small, I think this is going to last a long time as you just don't need to use that much.

It was actually the colour of this powder that made me fall in love. It's way more grey toned than anything else I've ever used which just seems to work so much better for me. I also opted for the medium and it's actually a pretty good fit for my pale skin. I was a little worried that this would be too dark for me but it blends in lovely and looks surprisingly natural.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with this. Admittedly contouring hasn't made it to being part of my daily make up routine but for those special occasions when I fancy making a little more effort it's reassuring to know that even I can cheat my way to cheek bones
