The Weekend post

We'd been wanting to try Home Sweet Home for a while now but by brunch-time there's queues out of the door. So this weekend we made an extra special effort to be up and out before the hungry brunchers descended. The breakfast menu is pretty extensive and there's some less traditional items on there too for those of you that like to be adventurous! I went for the Sun Devil Scrambler. We're talking house hash, chorizo, scrambled egg, chipotle sauce, sour cream and an onion and pepper salad on top. It was delicious and I could've eaten another plate full right there and then.

We then paid the bill and popped to the cake counter to pick up two of the biggest slices of cake you have ever seen to scoff later. It's worth popping in just for the sweet selection. There's so many different toppings and frostings, it's a sugar lovers paradise!

In true Halloween spirit we spent the afternoon pumpkin picking at Malpas Pumpkin patch, You've got to make your way through to the pumpkins via a maize maize guarded by spooks but once you've made it to the other side it's pumpkin picking time! We had so much fun wandering through the patch looking for the perfect pumpkins and it was surprisingly difficult to agree on the ones that were 'just right'. There are a lot of things to consider when picking the perfect pumpkin you know.

We got so excited we even ended picking up some for friends and a couple extra for ourselves. A word of warning though - make sure you wear something old. We ended up covered in mud and definitely needed a bath when we got home!
