The Double Cleanse

The idea of a 'double cleanse' is something I've really been getting in to lately. I often wear a primer, an SPF plus a long lasting foundation and come bedtime it takes a bit of effort to shift it all.

First off I always use a micellar water to shift the bulk of my make up. I've waxed lyrical about various versions on here so I won't say too much but I find them the most fuss free way to cleanse. To tackle my eye make up I've recently been using L'oreal's Micellar gel. I loved their micellar water for a long time and couldn't resist picking this up when I saw it on the shelves of Boots. It's lovely and cooling and leaves my eyes feeling really refreshed - the best bit is there's no need for rubbing either.

The second step in my routine is currently the Body Shop's camomile cleansing butter. I decided a few weeks back that I'd finally read enough rave reviews of this stuff and I took the plunge. Needless to say I was left kicking myself I'd put it off for so long. A tiny blob is all I need to remove the last traces of product from my face and I find it so gentle, plus it doesn't leave any residue behind. I also like to use this little facial brush from Botanics to help exfoliate too. I often suffer from those horrible little under the skin bumps and this has really helped. I find it helps really clean my face but the bristles are incredibly soft. If you don't fancy dropping a few pounds on a Clarisonic this might be something for you to try. I have both and I find this gives a much gentler clean and is a lot less harsh than the Clarisonic meaning I can use it more regularly.

What are your favourite cleansers?

  3. I don't know about the cleansing butter, I have really oily skin, I'd be too scared it'd clog my pores! I do need to pick up a micellar water, I'm hearing nothing but good things about them right now!

  5. I must admit I should double cleanser more often than I do. I do like to use an oil cleanser when I wear heavier makeup or an SPF I find they breakdown the makeup easier. I really want to try The Body Shop Camomile Cleanser, Its been on my list for ages.

  6. I am definitely going to pick up the Body shop cleanser once I'm done with my current one, you've convinced me! I might need to invest in a facial brush too as I also suffer from little bumps.
