I don't really like moaning but this is probably my only real criticism so I'll get it out of the way...... NO PUMP?! Why Clinique?! If there is one thing I hate from a foundation it is when they don't have a pump. Having to pour the foundation out means that it is prone to product wastage and I find it quite difficult to control the amount I want, so I find I have to tip a tiny bit, then another tiny bit and so on and if I'm honest I'm incredibly slow at getting ready at the best of times so this is wasting valuable seconds! However I have finally managed to come up with a solution for this, it's hardly the idea of the century but I kept a pump from an old no7 foundation and cut it shorter and it actually fits and has made this one so much easier to use. Hooray! But anyway:
Clinique hails their superbalanced foundation as ' the great equiliser for combination skin' which I find to be totally true. I find this foundation provides enough moisture yet absorbs oil where needed which is great for combination girls like me! I also love how it feels so light and natural on the skin yet provides a good coverage which is enough to even out any redness and hides blemishes well ,although I do still find that some need a bit of concealer. I also love how it is fragrance free and non-acnegenic so it shouldn't aggravate your skin or cause breakouts. I find that this foundation lasts around 6 hours before I feel like I need to powder again which I think is great
Pump issue aside I love this foundation and it will remain a firm favourite in my make up bag for a long time to come!
Have you tried any Clinique foundations?
I'm also on the hunt for a new primer so if any of you have any suggestions I would love to hear them

ps, GFC wil be going soon so don't forget to follow me on bloglovin
This is one of the first foundations I ever used years & years back, it is a great foundation, a classic.
ReplyDeleteFor primer I use smashbox photo ready primer & it is AMAZING, makes my make up last so much longer, evens out my skin tone. It's defo worth a try.

I have never tried a clinique foundation, I find myself wanting to desperately after this review though! AND I love your solution for the glass bottle foundation problem. I may need to steal that idea off of your hands and do it for my very own glass bottled foundation.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tip! xx

DeleteI love Clinique foundation, such a good idea about using a different pump because I also find the bottle so annoying. Why is GFC going?! Ah well, am now following you on bloglovin too! xoxo

Aw no, that's such a shame :( x
DeleteI've only ever bought eyes and lips from Clinique. I'm a Makeup Forever addict when it comes to face products. Their HD primer is definitely my favorite!
ReplyDeleteOoh ill have a look in to that primer! Thank you for suggesting xx
DeleteI hate foundations that don't come with a pump as well. It can be so annoying when the product itself is so good. This sounds like a really nice foundation. I commented back to you on my blog if you want to check it out :)

So frustrating isn't it! If it didnt work so well for me I definitely wouldn't buy it just because of the lack of a pump xx
