The perfect party lip colour?

When it comes to party make up I have to hold my hands up and say I'm not all that adventurous and I rarely deviate from my usual bold lip and nude smoky eye combination and this year is no exception.

When I spied Nars' Limited Edition lip pencil in Mandore it was love at first sight. It doesn't lean towards the berry side of things like a lot of the other darker red lip products I own and it just screams Winter.

The formula is buttery soft and glides on like a dream, plus this chubby little crayon is the king of pigmentation and one swipe is enough to give a nice opaque colour. It also has a subtle sheen to it too which I think works well but this does mean that it can be a little prone to smudging and this might be something to keep in mind if you're planning on smooching anyone under the mistletoe. Lasting power isn't bad, especially considering it is a satin finish and it fades leaving behind a pretty stain.

What's your favourite lip colour this Christmas?

  1. I've been loving NARS Dragon Girl this year as it's slightly raspberry toned which goes well with my skin tone. These NARS lip pencils are so easy to wear. I definitely need to get more. xx

  2. NARS is the brand that comes to mind when I think of the "perfect red".
