Now I'll start by saying that me and this moisturiser go way back. My 15 year old self purchased this one rainy winter afternoon in the hope that overnight I would achieve gorgeous bronzed legs like the girls on the Hills for my PE lesson the following day. The next morning I did my usual crazy, rushed getting ready for school routine and didn't have time to check the results of my new tan. When I arrived at the gym and changed in to my shorts there were gasps and sniggers all around the changing room. I looked down to see the most patchy, orange umpa loompa legs I had ever seen on anyone. Needless to say I never lived it down *sob* and my new moisturiser went straight in the bin.
Over the next few years I had an on off ( mainly off) relationship with gradual tanner, preferring to stick to actual tan in the form of a mousse or a lotion.
Fast forward a few years and whilst browsing boots during the recent heatwave I spied my old nemesis on a half price promotion and couldn't resist popping a bottle in my basket. Everyone deserves a second chance, right?
This time round my results were much more successful. I ended up with a lovely natural looking colour and my skin felt moisturised too, bonus. One thing I dislike is that these kind of products are colourless so it is difficult to tell if you've missed a bit but this is no problem if you don't mind being thorough. I also found that this lasted well, was easily buildable and faded nicely without leaving the dreaded patchy snake skin that some tanners can. It also contains shimmer particles which might not be to everyone's taste but as I do my tanning at night and shower the next morning this hasn't been an issue for me.
So far I've quite enjoyed using this moisturiser and I would even go as far as to say all has been forgiven. Would I repurchase? Yes, I think I would
What is your go to summer tan? Which brand should I try next?

I have this and it's not my favourite but it's okay!

I have started using this recently and I really like it. I think the best thing is that it fades naturally when it's coming off as you mentioned. I hate it when a tan goes all patchy and looks a mess! xx
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience the first I tried it as well, although I was a total mess, haha!xxx

My go to tan is either the Garnier one or the Palmers one...They are both great and smell gorgeous! x

I had exactly the same problem as you, one day I stepped outside after not looking at myself in sunlight and I was ORANGE, now I'm learning better to apply it as I haven't used it for years. I do like this one I just think you have to be careful haha.

I love this! I use the light one, I only want a "head start" into tanning.. so I don't have to bear those post winter pasty white legs..
ReplyDeleteI just read your "about me" and I totally agree- tea is all I need too ^_^
