Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine review

Being a huge Barry M fan I was super excited when I first saw this advert pop up on their facebook page and couldn't wait to get my hands on one! I love the idea of super shiny nails (if you've ever had a shellac manicure you'll know what I mean) and being able to achieve this look at home really appealed to me.

I decided to go for ' Blueberry' mainly because I don't really have that many blue polishes and although not very autumnal it is the most gorgeous cornflower blue shade and I just fell in love with it.

The packaging is nothing exciting, just standard Barry M. However I was really impressed with how opaque the colour was even after just one coat but you definitely do need two for that thick gel like finish. It is also ridiculously fast drying which is another massive bonus for me as I don't think there's anything more frustrating than painting your nails and then a few minutes later smudging them :(

And here you can see the product on my nails. I really liked how shiny they looked and they did turn out better than I had expected. My only grumble with this polish would be that it seems to chip a lot quicker than regular Barry M polish which is a bit disappointing. So far I've worn this for two days and towards the end of the first day it had already started to chip. However for £3.99 and for gorgeous shine it gives I'm still tempted to purchase it in the other shades!

  3. That color is so pretty! I'm really loving that cornsilk blue color over other blue shades right now. I've never heard of those polishes, so I may need to check them out. :) I know, choosing a costume for Halloween is difficult! There are just so many options! <3

  7. I hate when nail polish chips so quickly. I hardly even wear polish on my fingernails anymore, because I just get too frustrated.

  20. Your nails look really beautiful in this colour, having recently bought the same but in the papaya shade I actually thought they lasted pretty well without chipping! There is nothing worse than finding a nasty chip on your pretty manicure. Great post :)
