a little bit of sunshine

At the moment in Manchester we're having some hideous ,monsoon type weather, the kind where by the time you've got where you want to go your feet are wet and you might as well not have bothered brushing your hair! This is where my little sunshine in a bottle comes in..

Benefit sunbeam 13ml £19
After having repurchased moon beam time and time again and loved it I decided that when my next bottle ran out I would give it's slightly more tanned sister sun beam a go - variety is the spice of life right? Since purchasing this about a month ago it has become a firm favourite in my makeup collection and dare I say it? I think I like it even better than moon beam :o

Above you can see a nice dollop on the back of my hand - it's a little bit like liquid bronze in a bottle. I bought this hoping that instead of just highlighting my skin it would also give a subtle bronze colour seen as there is absolutely no chance of getting a real tan now winter has started to set in. And I'm pleased to say it does just that. Being very pale I often find that bronzers are too orange for me or leave my skin looking muddy but this product gives the nicest warm goldeny glow ( without being too glittery) and it's actually very subtle. For some this might be a pro or for those of you who want a bit more vavavoom from a highlighter I guess it's a con. However I really like it as it gives skin a healthy look and not a 'hey I'm wearing buckets of highlighter!' look.

It of course comes like all the other versions in a nail varnish type of packaging. It's not m favourite type of packaging ever - I don't particularly like dabbing it on the back of my hand then putting the brush back in the pot but it's not something that bothers me too much and it's actually so sturdy which I love. There's nothing more annoying than makeup that breaks and spills in your bag is there.
At £19 some of you might think this is a bit pricey for a highlighter but I always find that benefit products last me for ever and ever so in the long run they are well worth their money.

Whilst we're on the topic of Benefit I also recently purchased their skin care starter kit for £10. Having super sensitive skin I always try mini versions of products before I buy the full size because I never know if they'll agree with my skin. However when I was discussing skin care with the girl on the benefit counter she told me that if a Benefit product irritates your skin you can bring it back and they'll give you a refund which I thought was great - the amount of times I've bought a product and used to once or twice and it's irritated my face arghh! She also told me that Benefit are so confident in their skin care range that they're offering a money back guarentee if you don't see or feel a difference. Anyway, in the kit there are miniatures of refined finish facial polish, total moisture facial cream, it's potent eye cream, moisture prep toning lotion, triple performance facial emulsion and foamingly clean facial wash. So for £10 I think is was a pretty good buy, i'll let you know how I get on with it :)

Have any of you tried Benefit skin care? What did you think?
