May Favourites

*insert ramble about how fast the year is going*
This month I don't have as many 'favourites' as I might usually have. I spent two weeks in Mexico and a meager luggage allowance meant I had to really streamline the arsenal of products I might usually rely on.

John Freida Cool Dip shampoo & conditioner
I'm such a sucker for new shampoo releases and after reading a little bit about this duo I found that they're actually old products making a return. The scent alone is enough for these guys to have worked it in to my favourites. They have the most lovely minty fresh scent that lingers all day and leaves me with seriously yummy smelling hair. They also promise to shift product build up and leave hair feeling silky soft which is exactly what they do. I'm known to go a little crazy with products and less is more isn't a rule I particularly abide by, so things can get a little crispy after a while but since using these my hair has felt really light and clean. I'm also impressed how soft they've managed to keep my hair after two weeks of swimming pools, sea and excessive blow drying.

Avene Hydrance Optimale Light

I used to change my moisturiser more often than I changed my socks but after really streamlining my skin care routine this one is definitely a keeper. It has a really light texture and sinks in quickly providing a really good base for my make up. Although it's light it provides my dry patches with enough hydration but doesn't exacerbate any oily bits. I seem to be having a bit of a sensitive skin phase at the moment and this is really helping to keep things soothed and doesn't irritate it further.

Although I think I finally have liquid liner nailed, I'll always be a pencil girl at heart. This one glides like a dream thanks to the creamy texture and doesn't budge once it's on. No slips or smudging to be seen here. Smog is a gorgeous colour too. It's a warm brown with a slight bronzyness that's really flattering and doesn't ever look too much.

I wrote a little rave about this earlier in the week so I won't say too much about this now. It's currently my go to Summer scent and I've finally found a rose scent I really like! Winner

Seventeen Blow out Mascara
I've been trying to stay away from waterproof mascara for the last couple of months in a bid to try and treat my lashes a little bit better. I found this lingering at the bottom of my stash and thought it was about time I gave it a try, It's the first mascara from Seventeen that I've actually tried (more of a L'oreal gal) and it's actually pretty good. I find that it makes my almost blonde lashes look really black and it gives a nice curl and lots of volume. Whilst I have to admit that it doesn't give incredible length not many products do when you have eyelashes as stubby as mine. I also love how easy this is to remove, a separate eye make up remover isn't necessary and there's no panda eyes in the morning.

  1. haha whenever I do a monthly favourites (which isn't even that often) I always spend too long ranting about how time is moving so fast. Anyway, I really like the sounds of the Avene moisturiser since I like something that's gentle when it comes to moisturisers, will need to try this out in the future!
