I'm a total sucker for a magazine freebie, especially when the freebie is a product with a mountain of hype surrounding it. So, whilst waiting for my train home from work I couldn't resist picking up a copy of instyle magazine for the chance to fianlly get my hands on this little beauty without parting with a large chunk of cash.
Whilst I've heard so many good things aout this particular treatment it actually took me quite a while to get round to actually using it. Being a pre-shampoo treatment, and designed to help repair your hair before you wash it, I couldn't seem to remember to work it in to my routine and kept forgetting to use it before my usual shampoo.
If your hair is lovely and healthy, and not completely charred by straightners like mine, then it should stretch when wet and return to it's original length when dry. However, hair in a poorer condition doesn't have the same stretchability and can snap when stretched, poor hair. Elasticizer is designed to combat this in that it delivers moisture to the hairs cuticle.
For the last month I've been popping this on once a week before shampooing and leaving it on for around 20 minutes. Full of elastin, natural vegetable oils and even UV protection, this product sounded so promising. After I've blow dried my hair it has felt a lot softer and healthier but there hasn't been an amazing difference, I was expecting a bit more. It's a really nice treatment but I just don't think it faired much better than my cheaper ones.
The only downsides I can think of are the cost and the smell. This is quite an expensive treatment to buy regularly ( 150 ml will set you back £27.50) and whilst I enjoyed using it I probably wouldn't repurchase because of this. I was also a bit disappointed by the absence of a scent, I do love a good smelling hair mask!
Have you tried elasticizer? What are your favourite hair treatments?

I have been mean to buy this for a while now, is the sample in the mag still on sale? I love a good freebie! Xx

Yeah I wish it lived up to the hype :( boo xx
DeleteI bought this, and then picked up the magazine freebie. Have yet to try it though! I plan on leaving it on for 2 hours or so, I've heard the longer the better, might give better results x

Ah maybe that's where I've been going wrong! I might try leaving it over night then :) xx
DeleteI have tried a sample a while back and I had the same results as you. I remember thinking at the time what was all the fuss about this product but looks like I am not the only one.

I can't believe how expensive this is! The price really puts me off getting the freebie just in case I really like it and want to buy it myself haha! It sounds like it would be perfect for my hair, but it's a shame it hasnt worked that well for you. At the moment I use coconut oil masks and have been massaging neroli oil through my dry ends for the last few days (I think I need a trim anyway) x
